Adding more to your morning can save you time? I am sure that sounds crazy to some of you that barely make it out of the house in the morning, but by adding a more consistent routine with some health promoting activities, you can increase your energy and clarity throughout the day. This added energy and clarity can save you time because instead of feeling drained and confused in the activities you are trying to accomplish you will be able to get it done faster. Whether you work for someone else, yourself, or stay at home you want to do things that help you to be at your optimal level.
In the book the Miracle Morning, the authors go into detail about some things you can schedule into your morning routine to help you optimize your time. I taught about them in my Stress Busters group and want to encourage you to hop over there to hear more ways to rid the stress in your life but in a nutshell here are the 6 things they shared in the Miracle Morning that I may have tweaked a little to drive my day and recommend to others:
1-Quiet Time-A few minutes just sitting, meditating, praying, or thinking thoughts of gratitude. This quiet time
2-Affirmations-A few minutes used to say affirming statements that retrain your brain to think what it should and not all the years of confusing beliefs it may have learned
3-Visualization-Take a few mins. to picture where you want to be a year, five years from now. Where are you? What do you feel? Better yet, who are you? Picture it and feel it.
4-Read-Spend 20 mins. reading for information or for fun. Either way it will develop your mind and help you to grow more.
5-Journal-Take 5 mins. to write down any thoughts you have from your reading or morning. I also use this time to ask God to tell me what I should be doing today. I don’t judge the thoughts I just dump them on paper.
6-Exercise-Get moving. Whatever that looks like to you-walking, jogging, going to the gym. Get in the routine to move in the morning and aim for 30 mins. to get the blood flowing.
